At the age of 44, I found myself looking at some hard truths - my diet was terrible, I was completely out of shape, and my doctor had just informed me that I was looking at a lifetime of antacid and blood sugar controlling medications. Years of self-neglect were finally taking their toll on me and I was scared.
I wanted to regain the health I enjoyed (and took for granted) just a few years back, but I didn’t know where to start. It was easy enough to find information on the latest diet trends and miracle supplements are offered on every television channel...but were they offering to help you get healthy? No. I knew I needed to find someone knowledgeable and passionate about things like proper nutrition, exercise, and stress management. I needed someone who would understand that I sometimes don’t have a ton of time to prepare meals everyday (and I needed that someone to be able to offer me helpful hints and tips on those kinds of days). I just needed someone who cared about my journey as much as I did.
That’s where Kristina came into my life. She provided the tools I desperately needed. She knows her stuff, inside and out, and she gave me all the time I needed to ask questions and talk about my concerns. Not only did she teach me how to properly nourish my body, she taught me the multiple benefits of exercise and stress management. She has been a teacher, a cheerleader, and a partner. She holds me accountable and she encourages me when I need it the most. She invests herself in my success 100%. Most of all, she’s given me a sense of empowerment that I haven’t felt in a very long time. After years of neglecting myself, I finally have control again. I lost six pounds in my first week of working with her and I’m excited about that. More importantly though - I don’t have to worry about not being able to keep up with my kids anymore; I fully respect how important sleep is; I’ve taken huge, positive steps towards reducing my stress; and I’m just happier all around.

I had been friends with Kristina for a few years before ever working with her on my nutrition and exercise goals. I have always struggled with my weight and fitness since a teenager and been on every crash diet there was. I had recently made some progress by eating cleaner, whole foods and working with a personal trainer when I started discussing and sharing my goals with Kristina. On a girl’s beach weekend, I casually asked questions and she explained her approach to having a successful life balance while still achieving your goals and getting to that next level of health and fitness. From that initial talk what I took away was, eat more and work out less, so I figured why not give this a shot?

Kristina said she would follow up after that weekend and I was expecting the typical, this is what you should eat, this is what you should never eat that you see for typical diet plans. I was blown away by the detail and precision she responded to me with. She not only provided me with personalized macros to follow, but how to follow and incorporate this new shift easily into my lifestyle. Included were tips that she uses herself, tips specifically for starting out, explanation of how my exercise, lifestyle, and body measurements went into developing these guidelines.

But more helpful than the starting out information was her support. I would ask the most random questions out of the blue and she would respond with detailed responses and usually suggestions I hadn’t even thought to ask. Everything she did was fully intentional and always backed by research and personal experiences. I also never felt judged. Certain foods that I loved that were not necessarily the best option, Kristina never told me to cut them fully. She would show me how you can work that in. That really made this feel more like a new lifestyle than a new diet.

I felt the results immediately. Even though I had been on the healthier track, incorporating what Kristina had taught me made me immediately feel great. Then after a few weeks of eating more and working out less (but more efficiently) I started to see a difference. The number on the scale did not change drastically, but from pictures I couldn’t believe the shift. A few more weeks and others started to see the change too.

It has been about a year since initially working with Kristina and I have not continually tracked as I did in the beginning. But having that foundation I have been able to maintain better than I ever have before after the crash diets I had tried. I just recently started to track again wanting a reset/refresh. I often reference all the guidance Kristina was able to share with me last year, and she still responds to my random questions without judgement and her full support.

After years of up and down weight and fitness struggles, to have found a lifestyle that is adaptable, sustainable and so successful is something that I never truly believed possible for me. I blamed my genetics, society, my body, anything to justify why I could never feel as healthy as I wanted to. Kristina showed me how to overcome that and is someone that I know for the rest of my continued journey will always be there as my support system.

After gaining weight and feeling unhealthy after having hip surgery I reached out to Kristina for some guidance. She helped create a comprehensive plan to not only help me get back to the weight I was at before surgery but to feel healthier than ever. She explained how and why food affects so much of our lifestyle and the best way to be the healthiest I can. Her support and guidance are unmatched by any other plan I’ve tried in the past. It’s great to have someone in your corner who also understands that you’re human and want to eat well but also have fun (can’t resist pizza now and then)! Having a plan tailored to your needs/goals is invaluable and Kristina does an amazing job at being sure your happy and healthy. I really can’t recommend her enough to someone looking for a health change! (She also helped my husband whose goals were to cleanly gain muscle and he quickly began to show improvements after sticking to the plan they created together).
